Eclipse & Taurus Season

How many big Astro events can you fit into two days! Well, in answer to the question I am going to say HEEEEAPS!!! Over the 20- 21st of April we have (these are the big ones, from a very long list):

- Total Solar Eclipse,

- New Moon in Aries,

- Mercury Retrograde,

- the beginning of Taurus Season, and

- lots of Solar activity (solar-flares, etc. I will write more in the next update).

We also have also recently had the big shift of Pluto into Aquarius which is dragging us all into the new consciousness. My advice is to embrace the energy and flow with it as much as possible, don’t get caught trying to swim against the tide. It is strong, and life will not get easier if you move against what you know to be the path of least resistance.

Remember to Breathe. Breathe into your body, long and deep. Take the breath through every inch of your being. Stand with your feet on the Earth. Remember you are a cosmic being made of stars which happens to be living on Earth at this momentus time! Celebrate that! Do all the things… don’t wait. Dance underneath the stars, book your holidays, laugh and connect with friends, make love, sing songs, find community or re-establish these connections if you have community but have been hiding. We are going to need each other in the coming months.

The energy is feeling a bit topsy-turvey at the moment and a little hard to read, it feels like we are supposed to be doing something but I am not quite sure what it is. I wonder if you can relate... ? At times, it can feel a bit like time is moving past you, and at other times the world has stopped but you are moving super fast. Time itself is indeed changing and time as a stable resource does not feel the same at all. It is not bad, just different. If you can relate to this, a good mantra for you is, ‘I have all the time I need. I AM TIME’.

Astro Update

Aries New Moon AND Total Hybrid Solar Eclipse

We have a Total Eclipse of the Sun and a New Moon in Aries @29degrees on the 20th April 2.16 AEST. This will be a particularly spectacular Solar Eclipse for Australians - especially if you are in Exmouth, WA. Or on a boat floating around in this area. This will be a Total Hybrid Solar Eclipse which means we will get a visible ring of fire around the edge of the Sun when it eclipses. ⁠

This Eclipse and New Moon are in Aries, so if you are starting to feel the fire of impulsive action fuelling you, this might be why. Aries is about fire, passion, the sexual act, action, strength, courage, confidence, and conflict. Such a rare eclipse has me feeling very excited about NEW THINGS. ⁠

It is the start of new things, but also signals BIG endings...(@29 degrees) ⁠It may be that you have to burn something down to create something new. ⁠Eclipse energy brings fated and karmic events. This eclipse, in its rarity and where it is placed (29 degrees in Aries - the last degree of the sign), feels like it has BIG BANG potential. This means possibly big global events…

Energetically, eclipses can feel chaotic and big changes can happen very quickly. It can take us some time after the event to catch up, sort stuff out, and integrate on all levels.

Eclipses come in pairs and the Eclipse Portal opens on the day of the first eclipse (20th April) and closes on the  second eclipse (5th/6th May). The portal offers new pathways, new possibilities, and new inspiration. Take note of new friends and things that feel karmic.

We are already starting to come into this urgent Aries-fuelled energy and we can expect to feel the effects of it for some time. The Eclipse portal will close with the Full Moon & Total Lunar Eclipse on May 6th (I will catch you up on that in a couple of weeks). The energy will still be felt for about 2 weeks after this.

Mercury Retrograde 21st April

This Mercury Retro is happening in the sign of Taurus so you may find yourself wishing to surround yourself with a plethora of velvet cushions and be tended to by sweet cherubs who feed you peeled grapes… Taurus loves the creature comforts and sensory delights. This Mercury retrograde is unpredictable because it starts right after the Eclipse, and this may bring the energy of ‘ducking-for-cover’ with all the creature comforts…

OR…

It may be difficult to slow down and reflect, reorganise, recharge, rethink, at this Eclipse/Retro time (which is what we normally are called to do). Either way Mercury in Retro will be interesting. Don’t forget to back up your computers, phones etc…

Taurus Season 20th April (4hrs after Eclipse)

Taurus Season opens with a BANG - the day after all of the above… so if we are still standing and find ourselves without said cherubs and peeled grapes, the season will encourage us to stop and appreciate what is around us that makes us feel good. Sensation-gathering, whether it be smelling flowers, cooking delicious food, or standing in the rain, sensual Taurus wants us to take time to experience the pleasures of life. This will be a welcome respite after the charged energy of Aries Season.

However, because of all the planetary alignments Taurus season this year is definitely not as calm and relaxed as usual. You may find yourself at the other end of the Taurus spectrum and be the bull and off chasing red flags… (damn Eclipse season/Mercury Retro) Either way, take some time to smell the roses (like Ferdinand - if you know the book, but don’t get stung by a bee). Try to watch the eclipses from wherever you are (make sure you have eye protection or pin-holed paper) Most of all, try to slow down a bit and don’t get obsessed by red flags.
